2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that the websites visited send to the user’s device, where they are stored so as to be sent back to those websites on the next visit. Similar technologies (for example web beacons, pixels, local storage and fingerprinting) make it possible to collect information about browsing. In this document the term “cookies” also covers, for the sake of simplicity, such technologies.

3. Types of cookies used

a) Technical cookies (necessary)

These are the cookies necessary for the proper operation of the website and for the provision of the services requested by the user (for example for security, session management and storing cookie preferences). No consent is required for such cookies, pursuant to Article 122 of Legislative Decree 196/2003.

b) Analytics cookies

The website uses Google Tag Manager and connected Google services (in particular Google Analytics) to collect statistical information on the use of the website. Such cookies are installed only with the user’s prior consent given through the banner: in the absence of consent, the relevant tags are not fired and no data is transmitted to the provider. These analytics cookies are not equivalent to technical cookies, since the identifying capability of the IP address is not reduced and the combination of the data with other processing carried out by the provider is not excluded.

c) Functionality cookies

Where used, they make it possible to store choices made by the user (for example language or currency) in order to improve the browsing experience. They are treated as technical cookies only if strictly necessary to provide a service expressly requested by the user.

d) Profiling and third-party cookies

Where used, they are installed by third parties for marketing or remarketing purposes or to integrate social network functionality. Such cookies are installed only with the user’s prior consent.

This table must be completed and kept up to date on the basis of an actual scan of the website: every cookie or similar technology installed must be listed here with its name, provider, purpose and duration.

5. Consent, refusal and withdrawal

On first access to the website a banner is displayed allowing the user to give or refuse consent to the installation of non-technical cookies. The banner presents, with equal graphic prominence, the command to accept and the command to refuse all non-technical cookies, as well as the command to access the detailed settings, which allow granular choices for each category. No category is pre-selected.

Until the user has expressed a choice, and where consent is refused, no cookies other than technical ones are installed. Merely scrolling the page, closing the banner using the close command and continuing to browse do not constitute consent.

The user may change or withdraw their choices at any time through the Cookie preferences control located in the footer of every page of the website. Withdrawal of consent takes effect for the future and does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.

The banner is not shown again to users who have already expressed a choice, unless the conditions of the processing change significantly, it is not possible to identify the choice previously expressed, or at least six months have elapsed since the banner was last displayed.

6. Managing cookies through the browser

Users may also manage or disable cookies through their browser settings. Disabling technical cookies may impair the proper operation of the website. Instructions for managing cookies are available on the websites of the main browsers (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari).

7. Cookies and third-party services

The website uses services provided by Google Ireland Ltd. (Google Tag Manager and connected services). Google’s processing of data is governed by its own notices, available on the provider’s website. Users are invited to consult the privacy and cookie notices of third parties in order to learn the purposes and methods of the processing of data collected through their respective cookies. The firing of third-party tags is in all cases subject to the consent given through the banner.

8. Transfers of data to third countries

The providers of the services that install cookies may also process data outside the European Economic Area. In that case the transfer takes place subject to the safeguards provided for by Articles 44 et seq. GDPR, as set out in the Privacy Policy.

9. Rights of the data subject and contacts

Users may exercise at any time the rights provided for by Articles 15 et seq. GDPR, as set out in the Privacy Policy, by writing to contact@ricasolistays.com or to the certified e-mail address ricasoliconsulting@legalmail.it, and may lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it).

10. Language of this notice

The website is also published in languages other than Italian. This notice is drafted in Italian and is made available, for transparency purposes under Article 12 GDPR, also in the other languages in which the website is available. In the event of any discrepancy between versions, the Italian version prevails.

11. Amendments

The Controller reserves the right to update this Cookie Policy, in particular following the introduction of new tools on the website. The version in force is the one published on this page on the date of consultation.
